ISIK TOP OF THE CLASS OF 2007

ISIK College has certainly kept up appearances in the VCE having come first in Victoria in university enrolments for two years in a row.With only its sixth cohort of graduates, ISIK has sped on at light speed with ninety six percent of its students enrolling into university. The College’s success became clear with the release of the On Track data compiled by the Department of Education which tallies the pathways taken by Year 12 completers from each school. According to this data, released in June each year, ISIK College Eastmeadows campus is ranked first in the State.

‘We are very pleased with the results our students have achieved,’ says Mr. Tuncay Terzi, Isik Colleges Head Principal. ‘We would like to thank all the people who have contributed their time, money and expertise to the development of ISIK Colleges throughout Victoria. On behalf of ISIK College I would especially like to thank the Australian and Victorian Governments, Members of Parliaments, the Hume City Council and all the other organizations assisting our school for all their support for the past eleven years.’

Entering only recently into the VCE arena, having been established in 1997, ISIK College has shown the dedication and success that sets it apart from other schools in the Northern region of Victoria. Mr. Terzi congratulates all of Isik College students, their parents and teachers for this success.

‘I strongly believe this is only the beginning and our successes will continue to grow in the coming years as our students become role models and representatives of our community. Our community will thrive as our students become the role models and spokespeople.’ ‘Our success is the result of great effort, hard work, sacrifice and determination ’

“Giving the students university entrance is not our ultimate goal; a tertiary education provides our students with an enlightenment and qualification which allows them to make informed responsible decisions about the future direction of our country.” Eastmeadows Campus VCE Coordinator Ms Hatice Mohamed expressed her thoughts and appreciation:

‘These results are due to the unrelenting effort of our conscientious students and dedicated teachers.  Our teachers have sacrificed their afternoons, weekends and holidays to assist and motivate our students to achieve their personal best.” 

“When we take into consideration the background of our students we can truly see the magnitude of their achievement.’

With faces turned towards 2008, the Golden Generation is looking ahead and is set to climb.

Commemoration of the Noble Birth

Each year Selimiye Foundation organizes an International Conference to commemorate the noble birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Both local and international Religious leaders and academics are invited as guest speakers.

NO to Drugs & Tobacco Seminar

An important seminar organized by Selimiye Youth to raise awareness against the devastation caused by illegal drug use. The event was a great success attracting many youths from the local area.

IFTAR DINNERS AT SELIMIYE

Annual Iftar Dinner at the head office of Selimiye Foundation. Selimiye Foundation Organizes an Iftar Dinner for the locals each year during the holy period of Ramadan.
